One way rate card
Price drops to other cities, by route or by distance.
A one way card has two parts. The route sheet is a fixed fare to the places guests ask for most. Anything else, Per km prices every other destination by distance.
A card is in km or miles, set by your country. The fields say which.
The route sheet
One row per destination, one fare per car.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| To | The destination city |
| A fare per car | The price to that city. This is the fare |
| Km (Included) | How far the fare covers. Leave it at 0 and the fare covers the whole drive |
| Extra km (Beyond that) | The price per km past the included distance |
The fare = the route fare, plus Extra km × the km past Km.
Most operators leave Km at 0: one price to that city, whatever the road.
Anything else, Per km
For a destination that is not on the sheet.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Base fare | A fixed amount on every booking. Can be 0 |
| Per km | The price for each km of the drive |
| Min km | The shortest distance you charge for, even if the drive is shorter |
The fare = Base fare + Per km × the distance, or × Min km if the drive is shorter.
Why a minimum: your car drives there and back but the guest pays one way. A short drop priced only by distance does not pay for the empty drive home.
The distance is measured by road, city centre to city centre.
How the fare adds up
Sedan. Route sheet: Mysuru ₹3,200. Anything else: Base fare ₹0, Per km ₹14, Min km 130.
Bengaluru to Mysuru (on the route sheet, ₹3,200):
Bengaluru to Kolar (not on the sheet, 68 km, under your 130 km minimum at ₹14 a km):
The same card with a ₹300 Base fare, to a town 210 km away:
Paid at the end
The return drive is never in a one way fare, and the guest sees "The return journey" under "Not included". Tolls and parking are settled with the driver if you set them to be paid at actuals (lesson 5.7).
Common mistakes
- No Per km and no route. A guest asking for an unlisted town gets an enquiry, not a price. That is fine if you want to quote by phone.
- A Min km with no Per km. The card will not publish: a minimum distance with no price per km means nothing.
- Pricing one way like a round trip. A one way has no Driver allowance and no days. If the guest comes back, it is a round trip (lesson 2.2).
Do it
- Open Sell, then Rate cards, and pick Outstation one way for the city.
- Add your top destinations to the route sheet with a fare for each car.
- Fill in Anything else, Per km: Per km, and a Min km.
