Round trip rate card
Price trips where the car stays with the guest, by the day.
A round trip is sold by the day. Each day comes with some distance. The guest pays for the days, any km past what the days include, and the driver's daily costs. On your dashboard the card is Outstation round trip; guests see Outstation.
The fields
One row per car.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Min km (Per day) | The km included in each day |
| Per km (Beyond the min) | The price for each km past the included distance. Required |
| Day rate | The price of one day. Leave it blank and it is Min km × Per km |
| Driver allowance (Per day) | The driver's meals and costs, each day. Guests see it as "Driver allowance" |
The fare = Day rate × days + Per km × the km past (Min km × days) + Driver allowance × days.
How days and distance are counted
- Days count every calendar date from pickup to return. Back the same day is 1 day. Out Monday, back Tuesday is 2.
- Distance is there and back: the road to the destination, through any stops, and home again.
Two ways to set it, same result
Operators state round trip prices two ways. The card takes both.
- "₹12 a km, 300 km a day minimum": type Min km 300, Per km 12, leave Day rate blank. A day is ₹3,600.
- "₹3,500 a day for 250 km, ₹13 a km after": type Day rate 3500, Min km 250, Per km 13.
How the fare adds up
Sedan, ₹12 a km, 300 km a day, ₹300 a day driver allowance. Bengaluru to Mysuru and back, 2 days. Mysuru is about 145 km, so the trip is 290 km there and back. Two days include 600 km.
Sedan, ₹3,500 a day for 250 km, ₹13 a km after, ₹400 a day driver allowance. A 3-day trip of 900 km.
Paid at the end
The price uses the road distance of the trip the guest booked. If they drive more, the driver collects the extra km at your Per km when the trip ends. The guest sees that rate under "Not included". Also settled at the end: tolls and parking at actuals, night driving after the first night, and the driver's room on a multi-day trip if you ask for it (lesson 5.8).
Common mistakes
- Min km too low. A day with very little distance included makes a 2-day trip cost two cheap days. Set it to what a car really covers in a day.
- Forgetting the distance is doubled. The guest types one destination; the fare counts the drive back. That is correct, so do not halve your Per km.
Do it
- Open Sell, then Rate cards, and pick Outstation round trip for the city.
- For each car, fill in Min km, Per km, and Driver allowance. Fill in Day rate only if you sell a fixed price per day.
