Airport transfers, priced by place or by distance
Sell pickups and drops at each airport you work, at one fare both ways.
An airport transfer is a pickup at the terminal, or a drop there. It is booked ahead, so the car is waiting when the guest lands.
On your booking form it has its own tab: Airport.
Airports, not cities
Each airport is switched on by itself, not with its city. A city can have two airports, and you may work only one of them. You may also work an airport in a town where you sell nothing else.
A new airport arrives off. You price it first, then switch it on, so guests never see an airport with no price.
One fare, both ways
A transfer to the airport and a transfer from it cost the same. The guest picks the direction on the booking form. A pickup at the airport can add your Pickup surcharge, for parking and entry at the terminal.
By place or by distance
Each airport card is priced one of two ways.
| By place | By distance | |
|---|---|---|
| You set | a flat fare to each area you list | a base fare that covers some km, then a price per km |
| The guest picks | an area from your list | any address |
| Somewhere not listed | the guest sends an enquiry | always priced |
| Best when | your fares are by zone already | guests come from all over |
You can switch an airport card from one to the other. The fields are in lesson 5.6.
What the guest enters
The airport, the direction, and the area or the address. Then the date and time. The flight number is asked later, on the details screen, and it is optional.
How the fare adds up
By place. Sedan to Koramangala ₹1,400. Pickup surcharge ₹150, night charge ₹200, night hours 22:00 to 06:00.
A guest landing at Bengaluru airport at 23:30, going to Koramangala:
The same guest flying out at 14:00, Koramangala to the airport:
By distance. Sedan: ₹1,200 covers 30 km, ₹15 a km after. A 42.4 km drop:
Paid at the end
Each card gives the driver some Free waiting at the terminal, 45 minutes by default. A late flight past that: the driver collects your Waiting, per hour price. Tolls and parking too, if you set them to be paid at actuals.
When the guest cannot book online
- The airport is off, or has no card. The Airport tab tells the guest to call you. If your site has no phone number, it says you arrange airport transfers off the website.
- By place, and their area is not listed. The guest sends an enquiry and you call back with a fare.
Do it
- Open Sell, then Where you sell.
- Under Airports you serve, click Add airport and pick it.
- Click Set prices for this airport. Choose By place or By distance, fill in the fares, and click Publish.
- Back on Where you sell, switch the airport on. The switch stays off until the airport has prices.
Common questions
Why is the airport not in my city's switches on What you sell?
Airports are switched on one by one, under Where you sell. A city's switches cover the services that start in that city.
Can I charge more at night?
Yes. Set a Night charge on the card. It is added once if the pickup is in your night hours (lesson 5.7).
