Taking payments online
Let guests pay an advance or the full fare when they book, straight into your own account.
Plan: Razorpay, for sites priced in Indian rupees. Switched on per account by PingTab: ask us. Not on the Free plan.
Your site can ask guests to pay when they book: an advance, or the whole fare. The money goes straight to your own payment account. PingTab never holds it and takes no cut.
Where this works today
Online payment works with Razorpay, for sites priced in Indian rupees. Guests can pay by UPI, card, netbanking or wallet. PingTab switches it on for your account, so ask us first. It is not on the Free plan.
For sites in other currencies, guests do not pay online yet. They pay you or the driver, as they do now. The fare they see on your site is the same either way.
What guests see
When your site takes payments and the price is fixed, the last step of the booking reads Pay with the amount, and book. If you let guests book without paying, they also see Book now, pay later.
The booking is sent first, so you never lose a guest to a failed payment. If they close the payment window, their booking page tells them it is not paid yet and lets them pay again.
An enquiry, with no price, never asks for money.
What guests pay
You set this under Rate cards, in What guests pay:
| Choice | What it means |
|---|---|
| An advance | A percent of the fare. The rest is paid to the driver or later |
| A fixed advance | The same amount on every booking, never more than the fare |
| The full fare | Best for airport transfers with a fixed price |
| Don't take payments | Guests book without paying online |
Guests can book without paying decides if paying is a must. Off, a guest cannot book without paying. On, they can also book and pay later.
This applies at once. There is nothing to publish.
Test first, then go live
Your payment account has two sets of keys: Test keys for trying it with test cards, and Live keys for real money. While you are in test mode, guests on your site see no payment at all. Only you can try a test payment.
Do it
- Open Settings, then Payments.
- On Test keys, paste your Key ID and Key secret from Razorpay (Account and Settings, then API keys). Save them.
- Click Try a test payment. Your site opens; book a ride and pay with a Razorpay test card.
- On Live keys, paste your live keys and save them.
- Click Go live, then Go live now.
- Open Sell, then Rate cards, and set What guests pay.
