    Questions, answered.

What should a taxi bill include?

Your business name and phone, a bill number and date, the guest, the trip dates and route, the vehicle and its number, opening and closing km, each charge with its quantity and rate, tolls and parking, the total in words, the advance received and the balance due.

When does a cab bill need GST?

Only if your business is registered for GST. Then the bill is a tax invoice with your GSTIN, the SAC code and the GST split into CGST and SGST, or IGST for an interstate trip. The rate depends on your registration and whether you claim input tax credit, so type the rate your accountant gives you. An unregistered business may not charge GST, so the bill maker keeps GST at 0% until you add a GSTIN.

Why does the bill charge more km than the car drove?

Most outstation trips bill a minimum km a day, often 250 km, because the car and driver cannot take another job that day. If the car drove less, the bill shows the minimum and the km actually driven.

How are extra hours worked out on an hourly trip?

The bill counts every started hour after the package hours, and every km over the package km, from the start and end times and the odometer. Both go on one line, "Extra hours and km".

Should tolls and parking have GST on them?

No. Tolls, parking and state permits are paid for the guest and passed on at cost, so the bill adds them after GST.

    Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The bill is made in your browser and saved only on your device, so it is there next time. Nothing is sent to PingTab.
